Over the weekend I increased the maximum number of hamsters per home to 10 in Hammy Home.
You should see them in version 1.3.0 or greater. Restart your browser/app to update.
Pet Penguins version 0.1.0 is now available.
This is a very early alpha release so that the community can follow along with the development and provide feedback. In this version there are ten penguins and a small iceberg for them to chill out on. You can toss the penguins fish, pick up the penguins, and move the camera around. There are not yet any customization features. I do anticipate being able to change the number and kinds of penguins. It would also be nice to be able to add more icebergs of different sizes and shapes.
You can find the new Pet Penguins web app at petpenguins.com.
Swings are now available in version 1.2.0 of Hammy Home.
You can find them by clicking the bridge button when editing a home.
If you have previously used Hammy Home, you might need to restart the app or browser in order to update to the latest version. Please let me know if you discover any bugs.
Hammy Home is now on version 1.1.0. Over the past month, I’ve fixed minor bugs, improved the user interface, and decreased the load time. In the latest version I added the ability to spin the wheels when in touch mode. If you aren’t able to spin the wheels, you probably need to restart the app so that the update can be applied.
Hammy Home can be installed on desktop computers simply by going to HammyHome.com and pressing the install button to the right side of the address bar.
When viewing the app on an Android phone you should get a prompt at the bottom of the screen that asks if you would like to install the app. iPhone users will need to go to Hammy Home using Safari and press the “Add To Home Screen” button in the AirDrop menu.
You can also install Hammy Home by going to the following app stores.
Introducing Hammy Home, where you design and care for your virtual hamster habitat.
To begin, choose one of the starter cages. For those who like to customize, there are a number of accessories that can be added to the cage. In this version there are cages, bedding, tubes, wheels, food bowls, water bottles, chews, hanging chews, ramps, platforms, a bridge and different background patterns. There are plans to add other accessories such as slides, swings, teeter totters, saucers, etc. This will depend on what the community wants.
Up to 3 hamsters can be added to each cage setup. You can design your hamsters to have different colors and fur patterns. Make your hamster your own as there are tons of unique combinations!
Edit: The maximum number of hamsters was raised to 10 in version 1.3.0.
When you are done customizing, relax and watch your hamster. You can use the food button at the bottom of the page to feed your hamsters. The touch button allows you to pet or pick up your hamsters, fill the water bottles and play with them by moving the chew toys or spinning the wheels.
When you are happy with your creation, use the share menu to share with your friends.
