I added a couple updates to the Penguins gadget today. If you have the gadget on your page already, you should see that there are now three baby penguins waddling around with the others. If you want to change the number of babies, you can do that in the settings. The other update allows you to drag and drop the penguins. Thanks to delabs for that suggestion.
I added a “Pattern Color” option to the tree frog, since there have been a few requests for it over past few weeks. I also added the pattern option to the tree frogs that are on Pageflakes and Netvibes.
Over the past couple of days, I’ve made some improvements to the penguins that make them look more realistic. I’ve given them a small neck in order to make their heads look less like circles. I also made it so they look toward the location they are walking to, rather than just looking forward all the time. I’ll be adding them to Netvibes and Pageflakes soon.
Version 1.0 of the Penguins gadget is finally available to the public. Right now they basically just waddle around, follow your mouse and look cute. When the gadget is on your homepage, edit the settings to change the number of penguins and add a background image. Next week, I will be adding some baby penguins to follow their parents.
To see the new a pattern option for the tree frog on iGoogle, edit the settings as described in my last post and select a pattern from the pattern drop down. There are currently two patterns available. Expect to see more in the future. I will add the patterns to the other start pages soon.
