Over the past week, I’ve been adding new buttons under each of the gadgets that allow you to easily add the gadgets to MySpace or Blogger. Some of you may want to customize the gadget before adding it to your page. To do that, click the “edit settings” link and use the form to adjust the colors or to change other values. When you’re finished, click one of the “add to” buttons below the customized gadget to add it to your page.

Yesterday, I was testing out the gadgets on MySpace and I discovered that the embed code was no longer working. They must have recently changed the way they parse the code and rewrite it. I updated the gadget html code and it should now work for you.
To get the code for your page, click on the edit settings link under the gadget. You should then see a text box under the edit settings form which contains the code.

Conveniently view photos on your iGoogle page with my new Picasa Photos gadget. There are several Picasa gadgets in the directory right now, but this one has some features the others don’t have. There is a full screen mode, a thumbnail mode, a keywords/tags search. Even if you don’t have a Picasa account, you can search for photos that are in the public gallery to display on your iGoogle page. The gadget on this site is set to show pictures of dogs.

I finally got around to redesigning the site! At first, I was just going to use one of the ready made minimalist themes, but I wasn’t completely happy with any of them. What I ended up doing was stripping down and tweaking the default Kubrick theme that comes with Wordpress and adding a little code to generate the navigation tabs. I’m probably going to be adding more to the footer over the next few days, like recent post links, recent comments links, and a search box.

Check out the new Ball Clock gadget. Watch the balls as they drop every minute to display the current time. The balls in the top two ramps represent minutes and the balls in the bottom ramp represent the hours.

The Disc Drop gadget has been overhauled. I updated the code to actionscript 3 and in the process made it a little more pleasing to the eye. I also made it so that you can modify the colors. Here’s the link to the customization page:

This weekend a took a little time to update the Rings gadget so that you can customize it.
Here is the customization page:

Note: If you want to enter a background image, you will need to enter the background image URL into the settings after you add the gadget to your page, because there is currently a bug on iGoogle that prevents that setting from working from the customization page.
